Cormorant Point | Post Office Bay - Floreana Island
Our first stop on our seventh day was at Cormorant Point. We hiked for a few minutes before arriving at a lagoon. Our guide, Oswaldo, told us that travelers used to see flamingos here, but that it wasn't likely during our visit because the lagoon was a little dry.
We continued our journey and arrived at Flour Beach, a really fine white sand beach on which we spotted some turtles and sting rays just meters from the coast.
We also discovered sea lion skeletons on the beach, which were arranged by one of our fellow visitors, an orthopedic specialist. She placed them from the top to the bottom as you can see on the picture below.
We went to Post Office Bay in Floreana island after lunch on the ship. We discovered a barrel full of postcards there. We looked over some of them and added our own. When travelers reach this point, they collect some that are directed to a place near them, and then they deliver the letters to the address on the post, but unhappily, there were none written going to the Philippines during our visit, so we didn't bring any with us. I actually mailed a postcard to my husband, Michael, and he received it before February 2023. Just how fascinating is that?
It was our final night aboard the yacht. Before saying our goodbyes, we asked our guide, Oswaldo and the entire crew, to dress up in their uniforms and meet us for some sort of a farewell party. We are grateful for all of their support and care during our whole time at the Monserrat. Everyone is courteous and considerate of all passengers' needs. They definitely made our once-in-a-lifetime journey to the Galapagos Islands unforgettable!

Hannah and Nur got the gist of what we wanted our trip to be. They got us in hotels that were located centrally to historic tours. Tours and excursions that were significant, enriching and enjoyable. We had drivers that were on time/reliable. We got from location to location with ease. I would never have been able to plan this myself. I would not have known enough to ask for what we needed. This was above and beyond what I expected. Well done!
